From January, 1752, to April, 1752, James Beekman was in Kingston where he made several remittances of cash to New York merchants. After April of 1753 the remittances are directed to London merchants from Beekman at New York. They are usually made in Spanish milled dollars, in ounces of silver, or in pistoles (gold coin).
